ITALY. Papal Coinage. Leo X, 1513-1521. Medal (Silver, 42 mm, 48.90 g, 12 h), Papal Restitution Issue. By G. Paladino, but a later restrike, circa 17th-18th century. LEO•X•PONTIFEX•MAX• Bust of Leo X to right, wearing tonsure and mantum. Rev. GLORIA ET HONORE CORONASTI EVM / ROMA Papal arms. Cf. Modesti 240 (bronze). Very rare and nicely toned. A few light marks and with minor traces of mounting on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

From a Swiss collection of Papal medals, ex Solidus E-Auction 33, 15 September 2018, 64 and previously privately acquired from Numisart (with dealer's ticket).
